Virginia Hip-Hop Foundation and Virginia Museum of History and Culture Announce Partnership
Richmond, VA — February 5, 2026 — The Virginia Hip-Hop Foundation is proud to announce a new partnership with the Virginia Museum of History and Culture (VMHC).
The partnership brings together VMHC’s commitment to historic and cultural collecting and interpretation with Virginia Hip-Hop Foundation’s vision for storytelling and community engagement. Together, the organizations aim to build momentum around the preservation of Virginia’s rich history of impacting society through Hip-Hop Culture. This is in support of the foundation’s long-term goal of curating an immersive and meaningful exhibit that will inspire and celebrate all Virginians.
“We are thrilled to partner with Virginia Hip-Hop Foundation,” said Joseph Rogers, Pamela K. Royall Director of Community Partnerships at the Virginia Museum of History and Culture. “This collaboration allows us to expand our storytelling and showcase numerous ways that Virginians have contributed to music, arts, and culture.”
As part of the partnership, Virginia Museum of History and Culture will co-host two of the Foundation’s Culture Talk events in 2026 to engage the community on the following topics:
March 4, 2026: Stories of Women in Hip-Hop
May 13, 2026: Asian Americans Contributions in Hip-Hop
Tickets for the March 4, 2026 event are on sale now and can be purchased through the museum’s website.
“Partnering with VMHC is an exciting opportunity for our foundation to accelerate or impact as we enter our first full calendar year of operation,” said Vaughan Moss of the Virginia Hip-Hop Foundation. “Having the support of one of the oldest historical organizations in the nation will add immediate credibility to our mission and help us connect with audiences who care about the history of our state.
Additional info about the upcoming events will be announced in the coming weeks.
